How Much is 1,000?

Last week we explored the quantity of 1,000 in many ways. We estimated and counted popsicle sticks and unifix cubes. We discovered that sometimes 1,000 looks like a LOT and other times, not as much as you'd think.

Nearby Nature: Owls

We had an AWESOME Nearby Nature lesson on Friday!  We learned about the special adaptations that make owls such great hunters, listened to the owl calls of various Vermont owls and then had a chance to dissect an owl pellet! It was incredible how many bones were found in each pellet!
