Hands on Nature

How do animals use disguise as an adaptation for survival?  We tested this question in the breeze way garden by searching for pretend insects in the grass, actually bits of colored yarn.  We found out that the bright colors were easy to find.  We found the least amount of brown yarn.  We were thankful for our fun outdoor activity and the chance to enjoy some of the first warm temperatures of spring.

Balls and Ramps Experiments

We are exploring with balls and ramps to learn about force and motion. We are using the scientific method to make discoveries.  The first question we asked was: Will the height of the inclined plane affect the distance the marble rolls?" We wrote our hypotheses, sketched our experimental set up and listed our procedure. We did 3 trials for three different heights and recorded our data. Finally we wrote a conclusion. Ask you child what we found out.  And, thank you for collecting paper towel and toilet paper rolls for us.
