How long is 1,000 paper clips?

That was the question we explored in math class...and boy, were we surprised! We started by building chains of ten. We connected 10 of them to make chains of one hundred. Then, very carefully, we connected ten chains of 100 to make our goal of 1,000 paper clips...wow!!

Hands On Nature: Animal Tracks

Last week our wonderful Hands on Nature volunteers taught us all about animal tracks. We learned about the four basic gait patterns: bounders, waddlers, hoppers and straight walkers. We ventured outside to find some tracks and imagined the story the tracks could tell us about the animals and their activity. Afterward, the class had fun making some of their own tracks in the fresh snow!

Author's Chair: Poetry

After weeks of reading and writing poetry, our class poets celebrated their new learning! It was amazing to hear their voices sing the "music" of their original poems. They experimented with
similes, rhyme, repeated lines and onamonapia. Students typed their poems and added clip art to illustrate their amazing poems! After reading their pieces to the class, the author's chair was signed once again by all!

Play Practice!

Our young actors are having so much fun rehearsing for our play! They have learned their places and movements on stage. They have begun memorizing their lines and are delivering them with great expression. The songs sound incredible...and we are even working on a few dance move surprises!
Showtime is 9:00 AM on March 11th.....you are in for a treat!
