Teaching Kindergarten Friends!

As a culmination to our study of plants, students wrote non-fiction books highlighting all they have learned. Books included topics such as:  parts of a seed, parts of a plant and their function, what a plant needs, and the life cycle of a plant. Today we visited Rue Kendrick's kindergarten classroom to teach them all we have learned!

Jog-a-thon Day

What a perfect day! Your children ran their hearts out and pushed themselves to do their very best. It was so impressive to see their endurance and drive! Thank you to all the volunteers that made the day so special. Enjoy these photos!

Shelburne Farms

We enjoyed a spectacular spring day at Shelburne Farms.  We explored in the forest, planted bean seeds in the garden, ran through a scavenger hunt finding out what plants need and sketched our observations.  We are fortunate to be close by to such a beautiful and educational setting.  (Thanks to Jason Yonan who shared several of these pictures.)

Flynn Workshop

In preparation for seeing the show Pedal Punk by Cirque Mechanics, we enjoyed a workshop in our classroom led by a teacher from the Flynn Theater.  We worked cooperatively to "shape" poses, to create balanced poses and to design a machine with our bodies.  We are looking forward to seeing how the performers of Cirque Mechanics move their bodies on the Flynn stage.
